"Brandee in B&W"
By Vivian Frerichs
Originally shot in color, but I knew I would change to B&W as soon as I saw the dress. The polka dots just screamed B&W to me. Plus I wanted to create an image in the studio that was of a dark and mysterious motif. When I saw her spike heels I asked her to strike this pose, with her knee up, so that the light would fall on the back of the heel. I deliberately wanted the light to outline just one side of her body, and to leave the rest somewhat dark and enigmatic. This model has a brilliant smile, but for this image I asked for closed lips to go along with the dark & mysterious theme of the photo. I hope you like it.
